When the arteries become narrow and the heart pumps more blood, blood pressure tends to increase. This condition could increase the risk of stroke and hypertension. Primary hypertension is different from secondary hypertension. If the problem of hypertension occurs over the years, it is known as primary. If it occurs all of a sudden due to some other reason like thyroid problem, kidney issue or adrenal gland tumour then it is known as secondary hypertension.
